Wholeheartedly agree with exercising motors at home. I try to run both at home at least every other week for 15 to 20 minutes. Everything mechanical starts degrading quickly when not in use.

I have a small weep hole in that location. I cleaned up the hole & enlarged a tiny bet & just forgot about it. Good to have a drain hole there as moisture does sometimes tend to collect under there from a number of potential sources.

That area inside the aft gunnels on my 19 is flotation. Leaking rub rails rivets filled that space over the years. I drilled a small hole just about an inch up from the cockpit deck on each side just forward of the fuel tanks & water flowed out of these spaces for quite awhile. Water can also...
