TOXIC ALGAE - USA: (FLORIDA) WATER

The worst part is that I live in Ft. Myers Beach, where all this stuff is literally "flushed" out. We also have plenty of flesh eating bacteria here(vibrio). http://www.abc-7.com/story/28975493/natasha-story Roger

    fuel tank gauges

The plastic will not hold the screws. Use a bigger flashlight, the LED's are coming out brighter all the time. I have a 1999 w/ faded red tanks, and that's to only dependable solution. Roger

    Suzuki owners - question

Now to the question of why these anodes are needed. Obviously the motors are made of low grade non marine aluminum-try to find any anodes or corrosion problems on vintage USA outboards, and they never got flushed after saltwater use, either. If I follow the advice from Suzuki, I should keep my...

    Right Time to Replace Anodes

You'll know when they are bad, they will be badly pitted and covered in and surrounded by white powder/slime. I think I may start weighing mine before and after for an accurate reading on what's going on. Thanks Roger

    Fuel tank sending unit leaks

I have the same problem, where can I source new ethanol proof gaskets or gasket sealer? What if I buy the whole sender, is the gasket ethanol-proof? Thanks Roger

Change the internal anodes on your outboards?

I change mine in my Suzuki 90A every 50 hrs./6 months. Always used in saltwater and always rinsed after each use. Anodes are about 1/3 gone with lots of crud around them. Cheap insurance on an expensive motor. Roger

    Unreliable 2011 Suzuki DF-90

The manual specifies replacing fuel lines every 2 years. I don't think they can make you buy Suzuki brand hoses, but all service manual specs must be followed to keep anything in warranty. I just felt better having the official Suzuki receipt for my records, and did not price them in advance...

    Unreliable 2011 Suzuki DF-90

I have an early 2011 90A with 460 hrs., no problems. Had to pay 300.00 for Suzuki fuel lines every 2 years as recommended in the manual to keep it in warranty, what a burn, only a couple are special. I have had no problems with my engine, but am very wary, as my last Suzuki exploded and...

    Gas tank level, visually. Question

I have a 1999 and the tanks are not the clear type, they are more opaque and very hard to see. I use a Coast HP 14 LED Flashlight which is VERY bright, and can see the level under most but not all lighting conditions. Roger

    Mold prevention

Here's what I use, and it really pumps the water out of the air, works on a Danfoss compressor, and is plenty heavy, but NO mold or mildew. http://www.mmair.com/marine_division/dehumidifiers I have seen the new Peltier effect dehumidifiers, but they generally seem to get poor reviews, but...

    Suzuki DF90A Stalling

I just had a real headscratcher in my fuel supply, it turned out to be some defective fuel lines sold by Sierra a few years ago. It is defective, and the inner liner will delaminate and separate and collapse separately from the outside hose. This will not show up in a pressure test, with soapy...
