    Protecting aluminum fuel tanks

A lot of people for a long time have used Gluv-it for coating aluminum tanks. " On aluminum hulls, Gluvit seals seams and rivets and acts as a barrier coat to minimize galvanic corrosion" http://www.marinetex.com/gluvit.html

90hp Suzuki shuts down at idle

Idle speed is controlled by the IAC (Idle Air Control). It is electronic and must be diagnosed by plugging the motor into a computer w/ SDS(Suzuki Diagnostic Software). Are you getting any trouble codes? If its leaking exhaust from corrosion, you should get 1 or more trouble codes from the...

    Thru-hull depth sounder transducer

On my 22 the rear bilge pump sump still has a core, although it is thinner. I got 1 sounder to work there for a while, but I have a newer one that won't work. I think you need to be sure there is NO core. Roger

Johnson (Suzuki) 90: Another midsection corrosion failure

I know Suzuki/Johnson will only do the right thing if a lot of pressure is put on them, like BOAT U.S. is doing with Yamaha. There may be a settlement in the future, so save those pictures! Roger

    Fluffy White Corrosion In Cabin

I would stick with the regular kind, it's a pretty stiff gooey product that comes with a small bristle brush for application. Be sure to get it up under the head of the screw where it makes contact with the aluminum. I used Truss Head Phillips screws. Roger PS: I did have 3 of the old screws...

    Pain free insulation solution

I remember seeing a camper van in the 70's that had foam insulated panels held to the steel inside with thick silicon grease. They were very removable and stuck in place well. Roger

    Oil changes on long cruises.

For what it's worth my 2011 Suzuki 90A Service Manual requires changing the filter only every other oil change. I use the dipstick pump method with great success with the engine in the down position. Roger

    hull thickness

I no longer attempt to screw or glue anything, I use 3m double sided adhesive tape, strips or pads. The stuff is amazing and comes in a lot of styles for different applications. It has held 2 solar panels to my roof for 5 years and a heavy brass clock in the cabin, along with all kinds of...
